having been in the investment space for decades, fedgroup presented us with the challenge of designing a world first investment app of it’s kind. the brief was to design a fresh product that functions and looks nothing like any investment app out there.

 
 

The problem

develop a visually striking User interface that will be able to easily translate on both android and ios. Taking into consideration that the app will be made up of a variety of products, and making each one of those products appear to be different to others yet still maintain the same visual language.

 

The process

Step 1: The process began with analysing the already existing market in terms of LSM and current user behaviour. Interviews were conducted to get a a sense of our users mental models and to validate assumptions.

Step 2: Study ux and ui trends.

Step 3: Have a journey mapping session with internal stakeholders.

Step 4: Create a mood board of how we would like the interface to look and feel

Step 5: Apply and test

 

The solution

We developed a User interface that uses colour to differentiate between the various products. We carefully mixed colours that are as pure, warm and rich as possible to give the ui a great vibrancy. we also used the macro images juxtaposed with the vibrant colours to create space, freshness and romance to the products.

The fedgroup app was such a success for fedgroup that it was number 1 on both the apple and android stores for several months.
