realising the shift and importance of design led products, absa were looking to refresh many of their digital channels, and one of the main ones being their mobile banking app.
The challenge
Develop a user friendly app that is easy enough to use for the already existing customer base, as well as new customers.
The process
Step 1: Conduct user interviews with banking app users in branch and on the old banking app.
Step 2: Study ux and ui trends.
Step 3: Have a journey mapping session with internal stakeholders, product owners, BA and engineering squads for android, iOS as well as windows.
Step 4: apply the user interface to screens.
Step 5: Apply and test.
Solution
We wanted to create a fluid user interface that still followed the best principles for both the iOS and android platforms respectively by introducing the card design system into the ui library. not only did the use of cards allow us to create a user interface that is scalable; but it also enabled us to chunk content in a sizeable manner for the user.
